Amazing Things Arts Center Auction
The Amazing Things Arts Center, located in Framingham MA, like all non-profit organizations, is constantly on the prowl for money to help with operating costs. A few years ago during a board meeting, the idea of an online fundraising auction popped up. Luckily, one of our founding members was on the board of directors to hear this, and so with a little philanthropy and a lot of hard work we created the zing online auction.
Based on a solid foundation comprising of eCommerce enchanced drupal 4.7. We developed a custom auction module which would allow businesses and individuals to donate products and services to be auctioned off on the website with all proceeds being donated to the Arts Center.
Once the date and duration, were figured out, a large local marketing campaign was carried out by the Arts Center to promote the auction, mostly with flyers, emails, and even some radio ads.
Since then, software has been field tested, and proven to be a success, raising over $11,000 for the Amazing Things Arts Center in 2006 alone!
